It's also a perfect illustration of how these animals can and have migrated from West to East. It seems like we're rapidly approaching the time to redefine the environment and territory these big cats are comfortable living in.

GREELEY - A mountain lion may be on the prowl near Greeley. The Weld County sheriff's office says it has an unconfirmed report that one of the big cats was spotted along the Poudre River Trail just west of Greeley.
The Division of Wildlife says it would be unusual, but not unprecedented for a cougar to be that far out on the plains.
Mountain lions often follow rivers in search of prey, and can cover long distances.
