Groucho Marx

8- Do you think drugs should be legalised?
Damn skippy

Dog Soldiers. Manhunter. Last Of The Mohicans. Clerks. Day Of The Dead. Blair Witch. American Werewolf in London.  Evil Dead. Dead End. (Ok, too many with the word "dead" in the title.) Dusk 'Till Dawn... Oh, don't make me choose! And of course, my own upcoming peice of shi... Er, classic "Alive Inside".

2- Whatís your favourite song?
Sympathy For The Devil. I love the imagery it creates. The victorian idea of Satan being the gentleman trickster who was present at historical events...

3- Whatís your favourite drink?
Whisky.

4- Whatís your favourite candy?
More of a crisps man.

5- Do you have any pets?
Part-time cat called "Pringle". After the crisps, oddly enough.

6- What would you do if you won a million pounds?
Purchase a small easily maintainable property in the Highlands near certain bodies of water, lots of recording equipment and camera filters. Sort out MORTgages of loved ones. Abuse liver horrendously. Complete my Russ Meyer collection (ahem). Hopefully donate some to the good peeps at CFZ.

7- If you could meet anyone (from any period in time) who would it be? Myself at 11. "Study harder, you long haired layabout. Don't start smoking. Don't ever hide anything under the chair in the front room. They'll find 'em. Bathe more!" *Slap*.

8- Do you think drugs should be legalised?
Yes, but strict rules should be applied to certain class A's.

9- If you could punch someone (or kick or bite), who would it be?
Blair, Bush, Belersconi... Alot of politicians whose surname begins with "B". Do I have to stop at one punch?

10- If you could go out on a date with anyone, who would it be?
Mrs Perkin. A lazy floater like me doesn't deserve someone like her. Lust objects in the public eye, however... I'm not sure the internet is yet able to contain the weight of such an ongoing, detailed, and to some, depraved, volley of information.

11- Whatís your favourite surface to walk barefoot on?
Grass. I do it once a year when we house-sit for the inlaws. Living in a flat, it feels wonderful.

12- Which of these would you rather have, fame, money or love?
Love.

13- Whatís your most embarrassing moment? (Optional question, donít answer is youíre a wuss)?
Very nearly being found naked in a wardrobe of a house belonging to an elderly woman, whilst her grandson was naked under the bed. This, unbelievably, has a fairly innocent explaination. It would have just looked very, very bad.

14- Do you think Jon Downes should get a haircut?
Nah, enjoy the hair!

15- Are you in love or would you like to be?
Very much so.

16- Whatís the most unusual place youíve ever made love in?
A brothel near Canterbury. Don't worry, it was with Mrs Perkin.

17- Do you dig chicks with tattoos? (Just kidding donít answer this one)
(Ok, I wont.)

(It's yes though.)

Blimey, this could really start something. Can't wait to read the others... ;D
|| Re: Question time!|shearluck|lewisoll@yahoo.co.uk|11/06/05 at 02:17:34|shearluck|xx|0|62.253.64.24|1- † † †Whatís your favourite film?

It changes every time I see something good in the cinema, at the moment it's Tim Burton's 'the corpse bride'

2- † † †Whatís your favourite song?

A toss up between 'Here comes the sun' by the Beatles or 'Zoom' by the Super Furry Animals

3- † † †Whatís your favourite drink?

A pint of Brains SA if you're buying.

4- † † †Whatís your favourite candy?

Thorntons, I have expensive tastes.

5- † † †Do you have any pets?

Yes, I have a pond so keep fish. However it has recently been decimated because of pets at home supplying a fish that was infected with fungus, by the time i noticed anything was wrong and rushed out to cardiff maket to get treetment for the fungi most of the fish were too far gone and I lost 9 of them. :(

Pets at home are now my mortal enamies as the gits caused the deaths of most of my lovely fish (some of them being the 3rd generation that had bred in the pond) I now only have 3 left: Whitey, Mulder and Ringo

6- † † †What would you do if you won a million pounds?

Buy a big house and a top hat then become a gentleman explorer hunting cryptids accross the globe.

7- † † †If you could meet anyone (from any period in time) who would it be?

Rasputin, he seems an interesting sort of chap.

8- † † †Do you think drugs should be legalised?

Ah a tricky issue, some should be leagalised for medisinal purposes but others not.

9- † † †If you could punch someone (or kick or bite), who would it be?

I recon this one will be popular... George W Bush, the man is a nincompoop, he said earlier this week that it's ok to polute because there may be technical inovations in the future that cut immissions... that's like someone standing up to their neck in water saying "flood? what flood? oh, this water? don't worry I'm sure it'll drain away eventilly if i stand here scratching my arse." altough as he is from america he may say 'ass' instead of 'arse' as is the custom there.

10- † † †If you could go out on a date with anyone, who would it be?

Hmm, Milla Jovovitch if it was a celebrity.

11- † † †Whatís your favourite surface to walk barefoot on?

snow.

12- † † †Which of these would you rather have, fame, money or love?

love.

13- † † †Whatís your most embarrassing moment? (Optional question, donít answer is youíre a wuss)?

I was once frightfully drunk at university after a dare to drink 2 full bottles of tequilla and proceaded to vomit quite a bit and some baku with hair clippers shaved off my eyebrows and the front of my hair.
A lesser man would surely have perrished, but since then I have taken care never to get that drunk again.

14- † † †Do you think Jon Downes should get a haircut?

No.

15- † † †Are you in love or would you like to be?

I rather belive I am.

16- † † †Whatís the most unusual place youíve ever made love in?

A gentleman never tells.

17- † † †Do you dig chicks with tattoos? (Just kidding donít answer this one)

Only if they are of Pokemon.|| Re: Question time!|ladyunderground|ladyunderground2000@yahoo.co.uk|11/06/05 at 11:29:27|ladyunderground|xx|0|80.5.160.25|Ok here goes...

Well my most embarrassing recent moment was today - trying to speak to someone after having repeatedly told them off and had a real go at them - conversation should have been - you're a nice kid, I like you but if you behave like that again you will suffer full penalty etc etc.  Got as far as  you're a nice kid, I like you to find there were eavesdroppers who ran away giggling.  Tomorrow will either be hell or they will have forgotten. I hope they have forgotten.

14- Do you think Jon Downes should get a haircut?

Yes - short hair looks nice and it is so much easier to maintain and short haired people are not puffs Richard - well not this one anyhow.  But if Jon likes it like that he should keep it like that.

15- Are you in love or would you like to be?

Most definitely in love and very happy with it :)

16- Whatís the most unusual place youíve ever made love in?

Mind your own business.

17- Do you dig chicks with tattoos? (Just kidding donít answer this one)  :) :) :) :)

They can look good though I would never have one.  I have brown eyes and it is a well known fact that people with brown eyes have a very low pain threshold...||11/08/05 at 21:52:36|gordonrutter Re: Question time!|Starbuck|queegqueg72@hotmail.com|11/08/05 at 21:59:51|Starbuck|xx|0|82.10.32.184|Not that anyone knows me but hey, I'll answer the questions anyway!

1- Whatís your favourite film?

So many: Sound of Music, Rebecca, Gone With the Wind, Rear Window, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Pirates of the Caribbean, Bringing Up Baby. I could go on, but I won't.

2- Whatís your favourite song?

I'm going to cheat by having a few again: A wink and a smile by Harry Connick Jr, Stuck in the middle by Bob Dylan, Hero by Enrique Iglesias, Rescue Me by Aretha Franklin,  Only Want To Be With You by Dusty Springfield, There's a Bad Moon on the Rising by CCR, When you say nothing at all Ronan Keating.

3- Whatís your favourite drink?

At the moment, Strawberry and mango fruit tea. I don't do alcohol.

4- Whatís your favourite candy?

Time Out bars are rather nice and Thorntons cappuccino chocs, but if we have to say sweets and not choclate, I'd say those little round white chocolate discs with the 100s and 1000s on them, or maybe foam bananas.

5- Do you have any pets?

No. (Thank goodness, a short answer!)

6- What would you do if you won a million pounds?

No idea. Maybe get a big house for my mum so that she can have live in help and my dad won't have to do so much for her. Also, a more comfortable wheelchair, and a van with a driver so she can get out more.

7- If you could meet anyone (from any period in time) who would it be?

Hmm hard one. Maybe Van Gogh so I can tell him ppl will appreciate his work for years to come and he'll be famous and revered as a great artist. Poor man died not knowing how well received his work would be.

8- Do you think drugs should be legalised?

No.

9- If you could punch someone (or kick or bite), who would it be?

I'm not the aggressive type. I'm too small to be aggressive, they'd hit back!

10- If you could go out on a date with anyone, who would it be?

My best friend.  :) Failing that, David Duchovny or Johnny Depp.

11- Whatís your favourite surface to walk barefoot on?

I hate getting my feet dirty so it would have to be a very thick carpet so I could sink my toes into it. :)

12- Which of these would you rather have, fame, money or love?

Love. "Money can't buy me love" to quote some well known ppl. I wouldn't want fame and the trappings it brings with it.

13- Whatís your most embarrassing moment? (Optional question, donít answer is youíre a wuss)?

I'd rather not answer. I have so many embarrassing moments it would be hard to choose!

14- Do you think Jon Downes should get a haircut?

I don't like men with long hair, but it's not really any of my business. Although I do get on to my friend to have his hair cut when it gets too long. ;)

15- Are you in love or would you like to be?

I'll take the 5th amendment. ;)

16- Whatís the most unusual place youíve ever made love in?

Pass again.

17- Do you dig chicks with tattoos? (Just kidding donít answer this one)

I hate tattoos. I think they look cheap. *ducks the flying objects headed in her direction.)

I think that one of the most destructive things about my generation was the widespread view that drugs are OK, and worse that cannabis is a "soft drug".

Cannabis is a seriously powerful psychoactive agent, and the  present generation of skunks are vastly more powerful than anything we had back when I used to proselytise for weed twenty odd years back.

I think that booze and dope (particularly the latter) did me more harm than any of the so-called harder drugs that I messed with over the years, If I had my time again, I don't think that I would have touched any of the things I did with a bloody heat bargepole, and I would have drunk far more moderately.

18] Out of all the official extant (not yet extinct) animals in the world which species is your favourite?

So many to chose from, penguins are good, as are newts and hedgehogs, but I think it has to be dogs. They're intelligent but not clever enough to want to take over the world, just fetch it's stick and loll about being happy (actually thinking about it, apart from the arse sniffing thing they're probably more intelligent than someone who wants to take over the world)

19] Which extinct animal is yer fave?

tyrannosaurus Rex

20] And which cryptid or legendary beast is your personal favourite, or the one that interests you the most?

Dragons at the moment, Richards book takes most of the credit for this, but the corpse bird of Welsh and Celtic mythology is interesting to me too at the moment.

21] Ronan's just ace isn't he?

Yes, he is.

22] What is the best music album ever made?

Love Kraft by the Super Furry Animal's. it's a recent release yes, but every song on it is absolutely perfect and in the perfect arrangement on the album.
The best way to describe it is, Imagine if Pink Floyd had more of a surreal sense of humour were 10 times better then melded with a version of the Beatles that was also 10 times better, perhaps in the manner of the sci fi film 'the fly'. It really is that good.

23] the best cartoon you ever watched (either as a kid or as a grown up), apart from the Simpsons.

Has to be Pokťmon (although One Piece and Family Guy both get oak leaves pinned to their medal's ribbons)

24] What is without a doubt the worst movie you ever had the misfortune of watching?

Rock Star staring Mark Walberg, I really resent the time that film stole from my life †>:(

25] Your favourite fiction author is?

Robert Rankin, fortean, funny, surreal and Hugo Rune seems to have been based loosely on Jon Downes who could ask for more?

26] If you had to live anywhere other than the UK (or whichever country you call home) and someone stuck a Babel fish in your ear so language wasn't a problem where would you choose?

Japan

27] What's your favourite underwear?

Boxers

28] would you rather be thought of fondly and forgotten or hatefully remembered for years to come?

Thought of fondly and forgotten, if people only remembered me as some sort of sh*tehead what would be the point?

29] If you could write a letter of complaint to anyone who would it be and why? (supernatural beings of all types exempt)

Dear advertising executives,
Not all men are obsessed by sport and even those who are are probably more likely to buy a particular product because it's cheep, not because the latest slightly effeminate football player to be thought of as cool says he uses it after you pay him money to say so.
Throughly annoys me dose that

30] What would make you vote for a political party that would normally make you feel soiled if you even considered it (eg if you are a labour supporter (proper old labour opposed to new 'tory lite' labour) voteing for the tories)?

I vote libdem and the thought of voting Tory makes me need a good wash, but if they put Boris Jonson as leader, Ann Widdicome as foreign secretary, I might consider it for the entertainment value.

31] Tea of coffee, and that said what type?

Tea, Harrod's China White Point charcoal smoked tea (in fact any type of Chinese tea tends to be able to urinate on any other region's tea from a great height)

32] Would shearluck look dapper with sideburns?

Of course I would.

Dependant on mood, Richard Laymon was enjoyably twisted.

Canada. Huge, good quality of life, amazing wildernesses, many a cryptid, relatively safe and friendly, suprisingly good whisky. (I know it's normally in the bargain section, but honestly, try some.)

27] What's your favourite underwear?
Ladies. Whilst they are wearing it, that is. I'm not a washing line perv. Personally gave up wearing it after reading a Jim Morrison biography at a far too impressionable age. Never got back into the habit.

Cryogenically frozen to come back and find out.

29] If you could write a letter of complaint to anyone who would it be and why? (supernatural beings of all types exempt)
Hmm, excellent question. The 'Leader' of this country springs to mind. As relatively articulate as my written words can be, I don't think I'd ever be able to convey my dissapointment, fatigue and ongoing disgust at this man and what he has turned the "Labour" party into.

30] What would make you vote for a political party that would normally make you feel soiled if you even considered it (eg if you are a labour supporter (proper old labour opposed to new 'Tory lite' labour) voting for the Tories)?
Honesty and integrity. As far as the three main parties go? I think I've got more chance of a w*** from the Pope.

18] Out of all the official extant (not yet extinct) animals in the world which species is your favourite?

Any type of turtle or tortoise, also a tie between beavers and capybara.

19] Which extinct animal is yer fave?

Iím with LadyU on this one, dodo.

20] And which cryptid or legendary beast is your personal favourite, or the one that interests you the most?

Owlman and mothman, but Iíd like find an ink monkey, they sound very cool.

21] Ronan's just ace isn't he?

He's peachy

22] What is the best music album ever made?

Christmas with the Chipmunks - by The Chipmunks, also Take Two - by Rufus Wainwright

23] the best cartoon you ever watched (either as a kid or as a grown up), apart from the Simpsons.

As a kid I was hooked on a Japanese cartoon called Matzinger Z, in case you didnít watch this, it was about a crime-fighting gigantic robot whose fists detached and acted as missiles, his counterpart was a female robot whose boobs detached and acted as missiles, I kid you not. Nowadays itís family guy

24] What is without a doubt the worst movie you ever had the misfortune of watching?

Iíve watched thousands of bad horror b-movies (but I love those), Iím tempted to say ĎThe transporterí but I only watched 10 minutes of it so it doesnít count. My sister made me sit through ĎTrois couleurs- the trilogyí, those left me comatose, but it was payback for me making her sit through endless Adam Sandler films.
Perkin, if you start the movie review thread, I can review trois couleaurs with a singe letter.

25] Your favourite fiction author is?

HP Lovecraft, I used to love Clive Barker also but I donít think heís written anything cool in ages.

Ah well thatís obvious.

27] What's your favourite underwear?

Can I just say straight off the bat here; men should not wear any type of underwear apart from boxers. Womenís bodies, no matter what shape or size, are aesthetically pleasing, menís (save a few exceptions) are, letís face it, utilitarian, so on behalf of women all over who at one point or another had hysterical blindness, please wear boxers.

28] would you rather be thought of fondly and forgotten or hatefully remembered for years to come?

Is this once weíre dead? I donít think Iíd care then, so either one

29] If you could write a letter of complaint to anyone who would it be and why? (supernatural beings of all types exempt)

Owners of horses who ride on the road and donít pick up their poo, dog owners have to pick up their dogsí poo and if my car suddenly dropped its exhaust pipe, Iíd stop and pick it up, so what makes them above the law?

30] What would make you vote for a political party that would normally make you feel soiled if you even considered it (eg if you are a labour supporter (proper old labour opposed to new 'Tory lite' labour) voting for the Tories)?

Nothing I donít think, if I had such a bad opinion of a candidate or party, the only thing that would make me vote for them would be to find out I had a brain tumour that made my perceptions so warped that I thought the exact opposite of people.

31] Tea of coffee, and that said what type?

Coffee, black. The best coffee Iíve ever had is a Mexican blend, brewed in a clay pot with a stick of cinnamon in it.

32] Would shearluck look dapper with sideburns?

Hell yeah...oh wait, is dapper the same as zany? Then hell yeah.

Oh and as a footnote to Freecelt, yes I do say candy, but that doesn't make me a character from 'the dukes of hazzard'

Nah, I just look rugged. The comfort factor depends on the style of boxer shorts, I feel a lot more comfortable in boxers, pants don't really provide enougth room for me.

Posthumously, the former. Why would anyone wish for the latter?

29] If you could write a letter of complaint to anyone who would it be and why? (supernatural beings of all types exempt)

Animal crualty will now carry the same penalty in law as it would if the animal was human. For example, if you want to cut a grayhound's ears off then shoot it just because it's no longer winning races then you should have to face the same sentance as if you cut were to cut Steve Redgrave's ears off and shoot him because he's retired from rowing.

Sideburns are optional, with that turn-out but a tophat would round things off :D||11/29/05 at 22:23:48|graham_inglis Re: Question time!|ladyunderground|ladyunderground2000@yahoo.co.uk|11/30/05 at 00:29:17|ladyunderground|xx|0|80.5.160.25|33] Imagine you are Tony Blair (or whoever the hated leader of your country is) and one of your loyal toadies, probably peter hain, slips laxative in Gordon Brown's tea so he runs off to the bog. That all upper-class twats once a month are chased naked through woods and fields by anti-fox hunters and once caught they suffer a long and drawn-out painful suffering, not death though as this would be far good and end for the lazy class-obsessed £uckers.

Failing that maybe have drug use de-criminalised, never understood the concept of punishing someone for wanting or physically needing somthing.

Ok, to give a trivial awnser, before it happened, I would have said the liscensing laws. We supposedly (ha ha ha) live in one of the most progressive, open cultures on earth, yet our social habits were dictated by laws the better part of a century old. Truly pathetic. Yeah, I can see why some people wasn't keen on change, but the quote "This centuries radical ideas, are next centuries common sense" springs to mind.

34] If you could change anything that happed in the 20th century, with the exception of wars, what would you change?

Many things, however, my insomnia troubled brain is ill-equipped for particually deep thought at the moment, so I'll say:
The post colonial land division created as many problems as it solved
I remain in a state of perpetual regret that my vote, in '97 went towards helping Blair into no.10. Yeah, like most, I could see the whole "new" labour thing was 90% image and 10% rubbish, but who wasn't sick of the tories by then? I danced in the fountains of Trafalgar Square that night, with others, all of us hoping for something better. Did we get it? Did we fudge!

35] If you could force the original production team (possibly using a time machine) to make a new series of any show that appears to be finished or cancelled and it'd be as the show was at it's best, which TV series would you choose?

Weightlifting or Snooker. I also quite enjoy watching bowls on TV. The couch potatoes meditation.

37] What musical group or musician do you most hate and why?

A New Pearl Harbor. Anything by John Pilger. Anything by George Monbiot. Assorted crypto books.

A couple of different ones.

42] What is your favourite alcoholic drink?
Ahh, sweet whisky.

11pm. Oh, whisky, you so obviously love me. Your bottled comfort never fails to work its magic. Let's be friends forever.

7am. Oh, whisky, why do you hate me so? Why have you invited the cast of "stomp" to practise thier camp stage show shenanigans in my head?

43] Other than Cryptozoology, what field of forteania interests you most?
All of them, with varying amounts, depending on my mood. Increasingly battling my internal cynic. He's getting more powerful.

For those who don't know who Roger is, he is a monitor lizard who has a lair in Holne Court and glared at me with violent intent all night while I slept there. †Happily, my good friend Helios the CFZ cat sat on my chest during the night to protect me from this nascent Godzilla. †The only drawback is that Helios anchors himself to you with claws.
I know who Roger is!  He did the same thing to me as I slept on the couch.  Quite frankly, even before I went to sleep he was planning his attack.  Everytime Jon or Rich would leave the room he would claw at the glass in an attempt to open it.  Thank God there was a nail there or I'm sure I'd of been monitor stew!  :-/ :D

It think he would make mincemeat of the cat if he ever got escaped and got hold of her. Next year he is being moved to a very big enclosure up in north Devon at Jon's Dad's house.|| Re: Question time!|shearluck|lewisoll@yahoo.co.uk|12/02/05 at 20:26:24|shearluck|xx|0|62.252.0.12|So, sometime next year vistors to CFZ towers in the city may be sleeping next to a deathworm instead?|| Re: Question time!|graham_inglis|space@eurobell.co.uk|12/02/05 at 21:25:26|graham_inglis|xx|0|88.106.46.8|
Funny that Thelma should be awaiting an exposť of the CFZ...
There's no shortage of "exposťs of the CFZ", are there? I was under the impression that Jon writes them every year or so

- and, if there's a lapse, then Nick Redfern takes up the reins :D
